96 240sx s14 advice?

i have a 96 240sx s14 and it runs perfect as far as i know, when im driving and and i down shift then let out the clutch the car de accelerates of course but it kinda makes a popping sound kinda like pop pop pop but when im accelerating nothing, is this something i should be concerned about or do all of em do this?im running a straight pipe with a greddy exhaust and tip if that helps.. thank you for any input

Yeah, it's gonna do that with a straight pipe. Try not using the motor to slow down, you have perfectly good brakes for that. But high revs + straight pipe = loud.
