96 240sx over heating problem and check engine light

The problem is that the car tends to over heat but doesn't get in the red. also i have a check engine light on. the guy i brought it from said it is an error p1447 so what do i do now? what do i need to fix? please help!

Code 1447 is an evaporative emission code,it has nothing to do with your overheating problem.Have you checked the basic stuff?

i put it in the shop for a thermostat change it kept doing it. so i took a look at the thermostat myself. they put it in backwards so i flipped it around and it hasnt over heated yet so we will see in the morning

holy s*** you expect them to know what the f*** theyre doing but sometimes if you want it done right just gotta do it yourself

ok so i just did some research and found out that it could be a canister or the purge control valve, i'm going to test the valve tonight and see if i find any carbon or anything in it

fckkk man I feel ya though. I totalled mines not too long ago. When i did i didnt even want a 240 anymore, that was until i saw the motor was unharmed. So i just bought a shell and swapped everything over. Sorry to see that happen though o.O

That looks like your gonna need more parts to fix that like a core support and maybe your frame rails straightened? sounds like a perfect time to go kouki.
