no u dont have to do anything to the ecu, but u will have to drop the steering column and go into the footwell to install the pedals (clutch and new brake). Yea the transmission will fit perfect, but i believe u will have to connect an sac sensor near the front of the belhousing if its is from an s14.

you will have to take out the center console to access the shifter. If you use the automatic transmission harness (with a 5 speed ecu - an auto ecu can work but you will get major check engine light) you have to splice a wire together that is coming out of the back of the ECU in that bundle for the neutral position switch. So you will need a new ECU, and you will have to splice a wire.

The transmission will fit fine, however you may have to drill a hole to fit the magnetized crank angle sensor (CAS). Some OBDI transmissions do not have the hole for the CAS, but OBDII cars need it. I have a stickied writeup of everything you have to do at the top of the technical section. It should answer all your questions.

Is it easy or hard? Do it and then tell me what you think. Personally I think it's easy and straightforward but it is a major pain in the *** to do.

I have posted the link. it has step by step what to do and plenty of pictures.

The s13 trannies will fit but are OBDI. Also a 94 transmission is automatic, so I dont know.

my writeup and the links in my writeup should cover everything you need. if you have any more questions feel free to IM me. my Screen name and email are listed in the writeup

Its funny, i did the swap in my 96 and the check engine light didnt go on? I also used an s13 transmission and the car still runs perfect without the CAS, and i didnt have to mess with the ecu (plus auto ecu's dont have speed limiters )

Is my car supposed to be throwin codes?

yeah, mine with the auto ECU hooked up threw at least 6 codes. They all went away when I put in the 5 speed.

i have never been under my S14. I just bought it a few days ago. I want to know if I can plug in the manual transmission harness in place of the auto one. Is this how it works? Im getting anything that is different off of a wrecked S14. Want to make it as complete and as factory as possible with out getting crazy.

the manual transmission harness will be plug and play, but in my opinion it is easier to just wire the auto transmission harness to work.
