Well first post and first thread

Pics \/\/\/\/

Is it as bad as i think it is or can this be repaired without having to replace the quarter panel or looking for a shell?

Shells ok, but your not gonna be able to fix that without replacing the quarter. its krinkled which means stretched which means new panel.

They might be able to have it pulled and reshaped back to original, but like said above it wont look the same. I see worst on the bottom, and the edge where door meets the pillar, both of those areas would be a b**** to do.

go on car-part.com try to search for 95-98 240sx left rear quarter somewhere close to you and have it shipped or pick-it-up. Than try to attempt to do it your self or have friend or body shop do it for you.

or go on to courtesyparts.com its a long shot but they might have a OEM outer quarter panel in stock in USA, this would be the best. Because you would start with new quarter panel.

kinda looks like my old 240.. and my quarterpanels were f'd up.. ill attach some pictures. i'd say get a new shell and swap what you've got over. if you are good with body work, then just cut all that out, and epoxy a new qp in place of it. but you're still gonna havea pita on your hands.

those were after i got tboned.

here's my other quater

and all that damage woulda costed more to fix than getting a new shell and swapping my s*** over. so iguess you can compare it to yours. idk the pricing of s14's so yeah. maybe overfenders?

^Haha, I remember the smoothing out metal thread, that was a good one. OP, if you really like the car then find someone parting an S14 out and cut out their QP, cut yours out and weld the new one in. Thats the only way to do it.

That car is a gonner man. Buy a new shell, swap what you have/want to swap over and part the rest out. You could be able to make enough to pay for the shell replacement.

well i'm getting around to checking how much it would be to get this s*** fixed. And i've checked with car-part.com and i've got a yard close to me that's got some qp's. I just need to see how much it would be. But ya, the most f***ed up part is in the door jam, not sure how it;s gonna work.

Uarter panels are available new from Nissan. I recommend buying a new panel. If you get one from a wrecked car it could have some slight damage that will need repair. Also there are tons of spot welds that have to be drilled to remove your quarter and it is time consuming. If you get a used part your body shop has to drill those spot welds also and fix any damage which adds to the labor costs. This will offset the cost of the new part and with a new one you start with straight rust free metal. Aldo keep in mind you will need to remove the side and rear glass to replace the panel. You also will need to pull a good bit of the interior. Check my build thread and you can see pics of my car without the quarter.
