$160 shipped for refurb w/ warranty. is urs hooked up to factory system ?? if so how ??i bought one 2day 4 my benz adding it to an alpine head w/ infiniti reference speakers.yeah has a corded remote 4 volumethe alpine has a dedicated sub control thoughbullittandy wrote:They are fu*kin awesome. Do not, under any circustances, buy anything else. I have one in my 97 and thought it sounded very good but when I bought my 99 I thought I'd try a different sub-an Infinity 1220SE a 12" ported sub with box with some sort of new port desingn that makes it loud but not muddy.
The difference? In sound-nothing that I can tell but in space-holy sh*t!!
The Basslink is tiny compared to this thing, the 1220 takes up a third of my trunk! Also, the Basslink has a volume control which makes a huge difference. seacrh online and you can find them for $175 shipped.
If I've not made abundantly clear-the Baslink gets two thumbs up.
so it was a 30 minute job ?did u run power from battery or just grabbed it in trunk ?it does the auto turn on with the speaker inputs ?so psychedan audiophile friend mad car system guy told me he loves it in his temporary system. i am not so critical in my car so for $160 sounds almost free.gonna order another for the Q nowbullittandy wrote:I used the speaker level inputs (from package shelp speakers) into the Basslink.
I did not port it into the cabin-and there is no need to, I can't turn the "volume" up on the sub past half on ANY song without it breaking my eardrums.
Funny isnt it . my frienf Phil is same way. he is my only other moron friend that i can taly to about doin stupid s**t. ill txt him with my latest and get a text back w/ his newest moron move.bullittandy wrote:I can't remember about the auto turn on with speaker inputs-i'm confusing it with a Bazooka tube I have. If the Basslink has autoturn on then I'm using it. In fact, I've noticed that the sub "thumps" every once in a while after i start the car and I bet thats the problem.
I ran a wire from the battery because the amp is fairly big-I think I used 10 gauge wire.
Tip: If you have to run a positive wire, run it underneath and outside of the car. I mounted mine in the passenger corner of the trunk (no CD changer in trunk). With the battery on the same side of the car, just follow the fuel lines from the engine bay, into the wheel well, inside the factory cover on the undercarriage, through the rear suspension (a little tricky) and into the trunk-very easy.
I promise you that you will love it! My wifes 01 Volvo V70 (Dolby prologic)was ranked with the same year Lexus and S class Mercedes as the best factory system of the time, adding the Basslink improved my sound to that level.
That's hysterical that you think $160 is "almost free!" That's the exact same reason my credit card balance is through the roof!
