I just purchased a 95Q and the front is riding low with no rebound left in the struts and a very hard ride in the front.

By looking at these boards, I've ordered new struts from infinitipartsusa and they are due here today.

The big question is am I replacing the correct part? Is there anything else I should replace (uppers, etc.)? I'm going to put the new struts on and see what happens but any assistance is appreciated.

FYI: 95Q 89,000 miles.

Is this an active Q45? Only active system affects the ride height more than 0.25"?

Sorry. No, it's a standard Q45.

If it's riding low in the front, the springs should be the culprits, they are what "hold up" the car. The shock absorbers keep the car from bouncing up and down when it hits bumps, "floating" down the road.

I'd replace both in a 10 year old car while you're in there. Check out eibach springs, and tokico blue dampeners, they are supposed to be cheaper than factory, but more sportier.

Most likely its not the struts, but its the springs.....

The springs will hold up the Q weight for the msot part... However, replacing the shocks isnt a bad idea.

Now would be a GREAT idea to get Eibach springs and Tokico struts, both available from our sponsor. hit up Alex at Southwest Auto works. Superior and cheaper than OEM shocks.

Patients keep bothering me....no chance to proofread my messages for grammar...."more sportier"....I'll see if I can chase them away.
