95Q altinator 360k going bad ?? see symptoms

w/ a/c on kept getting low volt reading on my radar detector fluctuated 14.4 - below 12v.tcs/slip which is always lit on my car flickered.rpm fluctuated.this was in stop traffic 95 deg. ac crankin.shut a\c and smoothed outtraffic let up and when cruising no issues w/ ac on360k i know it needs changin anyway, have a factory reman in trunk.plugged it into trickle charger when got home and needle was at 1/2battery has 10k and 6 mos on it.

yeah,plan on replacing before it dies and takes out the battery or leaves you stranded-but just for kicks,check belt first to make sure it is tensioned properly!

Wow 360k on original alternator? and here I was thinking of replacing mine at 200k just for safety sake! guess I will hold off on that now!

factory rebuild installed today all good, bought it from a member for $80 w5k on it$200 labor

You did real good! Glad to hear that you're up and running. Did you find out what had failed on your alternator? Did you replace the belt?

no belts was just done, prob the regulator went according to the flucuationsthe old one looked nasty.

yep- my slow window up problem of the past couple of years has improved by 30% as well.

Altinator - solved that problemwhen i changed the altinator on my benz it fixed the abs
