Alright guys been offered a 95mm maf for my ca engine, the guy whos selling it is breaking his ca18det so I know it works but is it really needed? I'm going by bigger is better but considering this is considerably larger will it be a decent mod worth having?
Thanks in advance

No, it is not.
Your 1.8L will draw too little air through to the MAF for it to get a useful reading in the lower load areas. Bigger diameter means slower airflow, slower airflow tends to get turbulent. Turbulence is bad for a MAF (meaning, it doesn't break the MAF, it just can't get a good reading.).

Choose a MAF that fits your HP goals exactly. No bigger, no smaller.

Yea, as blownhemi has stated, running a huge MAFS on a small displacement motor can cause tuning problems at low loads, causing the engine to run poorly.

Sorted, looking for a z32 afm or a r33 gtst green label as there a lot cheaper and still good enough for my 300whp goal. Bought a cpc inlet manifold, 70mm Ford throttle body and a nistune ecu instead so back to saving!
