95 suspension??

Is there any difference in the suspension from a 95 base model, and a 97 se, besides the lug pattern?

NO... here's my theory!

The 4-lug hub assemblies are lighter than the 5-lug. In the 4-cyl engine world... weight savings are a HUGE advantage. Also, any strength that you would get out of a 5-lug is pointless on a 4-cyl car. Some of my friends in the 4X4 world, swap to 6 and 8-lug wheel assemblies with bead locks and what not. But they are also running big v8's with LOADS of torque and horsepower... and add that to the fact that they grip real hard... then an upgrade to more lugs makes sense. I mean... a lot of very powerful cars use 4-lug wheels, and that is their last concern in regard to strength... it is more than sufficient.

The only negative is choices in aftermarket wheels.... there are less available in 4-lug patterns.

What if I'm doing the SR20SET swap, in about a week, can I do any brake upgrades?

Damn... what have you got... an endless supply of cash to burn!!!? :D

Sure there are brake upgrades... the 300zx brakes are popular... or any of a number of after-market companies make brake component upgrades.

no, I just had my other car totaled, and State farm gave me a nice settlement, enough to buy a $3500 95 s14 with 4 lugs though, I have a buddy that can get an s14 sr20det front clip for 2000, and have it installed for 1500, then Im gonna do an s15 front end coversion, and get the rest of the car painted.

Well, sorry to hear your car got totalled... sounds like you came out on top though!! That's a good situation to be in... I'm envious. I would hold off on the 5 lug swap. It's not cheap, and it really is pointless unless you're putting out 500+ hp! Put the money into upgrades on your SR and you'll be FAR better off. Get a FMIC or something.
