As said above I have a 95 240 that up until 2 days ago started fine with no problems. I have an auto, remote start, and a year old battery.

This all started 2 days ago when it rained non stop here, The following day I went out to start it for school and the car started out very weak. The sound was characteristic of an old junky car. I thought this was odd but i had to get to class. The problem and sound persisted throughout the day until late that evening, I accidentally hit the remote start button on my remote. The car tried to start 3 times in succesion with no avail. After this, the car has not starting ever since. When I go to start the car, I do not hear any clicks from the starter at all. I have tested the battery and alternator and all have tested fine as i have replaced both recently. MY QUESTION IS: is my starter completely dead? If so, would it do me better to simply replace the entire assembly or replace faulty parts? Basically, what the hell is wrong with it?!?!

bang the starter with a hammer or a mallet then try to start it. if it starts fine then most likely (from what i've been told) it's your solenoid. I had to replace the starter on my 93 and it's not really that hard. Is it harder to start when it's hot outside?

smack the starter relay. In the s13 it's located (or bolted) to the passenger side fender, right next to the battery. It should be blue. just smack it and try to crank again.
