A 1997 GT-R for that price sounds like it has either been beat to sh.t or is a scam. Most R33's sell for between $10k-$20K over here, in decent condtion. I'd be leary of it unless it's on U.S. soil.
And even though it is a year for eligble import, be sure that all the modifications can be done. You need to get the ECU to be OBD II compatible, and to the best of my knowledge, it hasn't been done yet. Plus, you are going to pay more than what you paid for the car to get it legal.
