95 sentra problem

ok i have a 95 nissan sentra special edition and my problem is that i put some gas one day and now when i give certain amount of gas it start shake like it jerks around. it does not happin when its cold, only when the car is hot, i have a 5spd and i change the fuel filter, put better fuel, fuel cleaner, spark plugs, wires and other stuff and still does it, anyone know why it does it?

Sounds like a transmission problem. Depending on what exactly the shake is like, I'd say it's your clutch or your CV joint(s).

u wont get any vibration if its CV joints, if there broke they start clicking very loudly at full lock.could you be more specific about the vibration.

U need to be specific with the jerk...and u did not mention whether it jerks during idling as well...

What is interesting is the problem starts during hot.

So, what u have is something that acts up when hot. means it is not a blockage + not an obvious broken part.my best guess...Its potentially electronic related or sensor..

anyway...did you check your air filter? other potential problems1) fuel pump which is operated electronically located normally at the petrol tank.2) air flow sensor ...3) broken wires also possible...4) contaminated petrol/gas tank. + like water residue

ok when the car is warm it wont shake, it only does it when its hot, but the only time the car will shake is when i give just a lil bit of gas, if i press it half way it will stop, full throttle it will stop, idles normal, its between not giving gas, to a lil b4 half way, just enough to make the rpm go up real slow u know, but if i do that when its cold it doesnt do it. what i was thinking it could be o2 sensor or mass air flow sensor, think it could be that? if it is a o2 sensoe the one on the exhaust is hard to change? cause i can go to a junk yard just to try it out and see what happins. oh sorry u guys i have a94

could possibly be just an IAT sensor. this deals with the temperature of the air coming in and bases that in conjuction with the mass air flow. seems farfetch'd but it could be a possibility.

could be a cooling problem too. the engine has no problem staying warm in the cold but when its hot it has trouble staying cool right?. this could cause some of your problems.

will it be ok if i spray some brake cleaner at the sensor? or will it damage it? cause i would like to clean it b4 i get a new or used one

now that i think a/b it u probably don't have an IAT sensor. because of its age. however i could be wrong. if u have one and if this is ur problem, i'd just wipe it off with a soft cloth or just replace it. these sensors don't cost much. its the MAF sensor that bends u over the barrel.

When it happens only when it is hot...in my opinion..chances are sensors have gone wrong...either with the contact or simply expired...

It wouldn't be the IAT. If the reading was off, it wouldn't run noticeably poorly, just gas mileage would drop and there'd be a little power loss you probably wouldn't even feel.

If the coolant temp sensor is bad, you might get some of this, but it'd be an issue at idle too, so that's unlikely.

Beyond that, I'm stumped for the moment. I'll give it some more thought.

Was your issue resolved ,,,,

I have a Nissan Sunny 1996 Manual , Fb14 , Have similar on going problem, it jerks when you race the RPm to 2500 to 3000 in 2nd and 3rd gear. I thought it was the clutch problem ,but clutch is fine. Showed it to mechanic , say air flow meter or sensor problem. No one is able to say for sure.. replacing the Airflow meter is expensive here..

I replaced the engine coolant sensor and also cleaned the IAV , No respite

The car drives fine when its cold, problem or jerks when it reaches a certain temperature..Checked all the hose from the air box, changed the air filter ,..

If you find some solution do let me know also...I read in a forum that it can be EGR ...need to clean using a carbo cleaner..

Hey I just had the exact problem on mt 96 Hardbody.. The airflow meter is out. Ran fine cold.give a little gas it would run sometimes a little more and it was like I turned the key off. let off the gas and it would run again..Idel was fine

It runs fine cold because the ECM doesnt read the Air Flow Meter untill the car warms up. I replaced mine and the truck runs like new again.
