95' Sentra check engine light, reverse, idle problems....EGR?

First things first...I know more about my 240sx coupe than I do my girlfriend's automatic 95 Sentra with a ga16de engine.

I believe she is experiencing some problems with the EGR valve if not some where within the system.....however I am not exactly sure.

Here is what I know so far...based on what she has told me.1. Check engine light comes on when the a/c is turned on and going in reverse.2. Feels clunky3. The engine is slow and stumbles as if it is going to stall when slowing down or coming to a stop.

I am guessing the egr system or valve because of the idle stumbling.I am not sure what to think about the a/c, reverse, check engine light.

Furthermore, she tells me and I have noticed the check engine light turning on and off seemingly at random. The a/c, reverse, check engine light....occurrence happens semi regularly and I have known about it for a while now. We have not done anything about it because she usually has the a/c off when she starts the car until she gets up to speed on the highway.

Also....the last time it was in the shop we had a transmission leak fixed and the MAF sensor replaced. When she was doing a lot of daily driving, for work, I installed a K&N OEM replacement air filter into her car. I am not sure when the spark plugs where changed and I would not doubt it is time to change them.

If anyone has any information that could shed some light on the situation the help would be appreciated.

You need to pull the code. The proceedure to do it is exactly the same as the 240. The codes you see will probably also be the same sequence as a 240. When you get the codes post back. The ecm is located on the floor under the center of the dash.
