95 s14 trunk help

like it says on my 95 s14 se, my trunk latch doesn't release the trunk. so i gotta open it with my key

There is a lock on the latch, it makes is to guys who break into your car can't get into the trunk by the remote release. Open the trunk and look into the hole on the inside of the trunk. There will be a little latch that you need to flip either up or down I can't remember. If that doesn't fix it then something is wrong with the latch or the cable that actuates it.
