I take them out of almost every car and will be taking the out of the s14 I just bought soon. I have been in two serious car wrecks where I was the driver and sustained powder burns, and a broken wrist. Before anyone is quick to flame, put it this way. I'm 6'3" tall and always wear a seat belt. At best an air bag might come out 12" when it deploys. My arms are a good 24" long each (head math). Considering most of my cars have had belt pre-tensioners, I would be much more likely to bet my life on those belts keeping me in the car and the crumple-zone doing its job, than two (or ten) high explosive, rough textured pieces of woven burlap exploding 2-3 feet from my face and filling the car with smoke. Trust me, when those babies pop, it's not the same silky fluff bags that they show you in Lexus commercials. They hurt. Ask my best friend that lost a tooth and had to have several surgeries on his mouth. Airbags are good for: 1.) Body-shops 2.) Dealer part sales, 3.) People that don't wear seat belts, and 4.) Senators wanting to show voters their proven track-record in forcing manufacturers to fix their "unsafe" cars while they fulfill their own political ambitions.
Shot-answer: Sell 'em on eBay and buy yourself a nice Italian or Japanese steering wheel and hub adapter with the money you just made. In my opinion, your car will be faster, lighter, and safer without them. Less weight = less momentum. Trust me, I've been the crash test dummy. Price a set from the dealer sometime. If they're anything like Honda you'll quickly realize an SRS system can easily set you back two large- all for technology that my 1986 Mercedes had. I'd say that's just raw capitalism at work by instilling fear in the masses.
