95 R33 STARTING TROUBLES...

WHATS UP GUYS... RECENTLY TOOK OUT MY SPARK PLUG COVER TO RATTLE CAN IT BECAUSE OF SOME CHIPS AND WHEN I REPLACED EVERYTHING, SHE WOULD NOT START. I JUMPED HER WITH MY JEEP AND LET HER RUN UNTIL SHE IDLED DOWN AND THEN TOOK A QUICK SPIN AROUND THE BLOCK TO CHARGE THE BATTERY, BUT NOW IT WON'T FIRE UP AGAIN? WAS WONDERING IF ANYONE ELSE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM? I THINK MAYBE THE GROUND WIRE THAT IS ON ONE OF THE SCREWS ON THE ELECTRODE THAT IS ON THE BACK OF THE SPARK PUG COVER MIGHT HAVE TOUCHED SOMETHING AND SHORTED OUT THE BATTERY? I DON'T KNOW? ANY HELP? WHERE CAN I GET A BATTERY FOR HER? 95 SKYLINE R33 GTR V SPEC... THANKS...

Any decent auto shop will have a replacement battery for it and should be able to check the battery as well. If I was to buy a new battery I would go with a optima as I have heard great things about them.

Touching a ground wire to another ground location will not hurt anything. Even if it grounded out the power wire to the harness it would not hurt. It will just prevent current from reaching the coils and ground the power before it gets a chance to go to the plugs. I would take off the cover again and move the wires around while somebody else cranks it.

On a side note, what does it take to short a battery out to the point where it is damaged?

your battery is bad

just take it to autozone and find a replacement. have them test your old one first just in case. this has nothing to do with your grounds.

as a fellow skyline owner i also know that if yours is like mine is has the small batt in the back, mine has a bad cell and does the same exact thing. I haven't gotten around to changing it but if you wanted to go with a redtop battery i think the little honda red tops are about the same size, but like i said i have not checked it out yet.
