Ok everywhere I've gone for help so far has led me nowhere so lets make this my last stop. I have a 1995 Infiniti Q45 (185k miles) which ran wonderfully until the last week or so. I dont know if this is related to my current problem or not but since a couple weeks ago whenever i start the car it seemed to crank and start just fine but once it kicked over it would idle low then kill. If i gave it gas right after it started up to about 2500 rpm for a second or two it would then run just fine. A couple days ago we had a massive snow storm come through and as i was going to head to work the car wouldnt make it through the snow around it (about 10-12 inches) so i shut it off shoveled around it and when i went to fire it back up it wouldn't crank, the only noise was what sounded like a click but i could not tell from where. After a few tries with nothing working I went inside for about 15 minutes and came back out and she started up just fine (with the low idling exception). No problems again until today (3 days later) when i started the car this morning and it idled low and died. I went to start it again immediately after it died and it wouldnt crank. After work (9 hours later) i tried starting it figuring it just needed to sit again but still nothing. There is no turning or cranking at all but it still has full power to the headlights and what not (not dim at all). It is 10 degrees out so it could maybe be a frozen solenoid but with the snow i cant get under the car nor am i sure where the starter is on it. If anyone knows my problem or has a suggestion help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for any help and welcoming me to the nico community! email ~
