Losing both radio and (even) ability to move 'seat' position controls, even tilt on steering wheel, when accelerating. All power comes back when brake is hit.
We are confident that we, too, need to replace the power steering module, as it (power steering) goes in and out--mostly out. These issues related????

144,000 miles, we've owned since 1997.

Sounds like a short in the electrical wires behind the brakes. I would first look for some wires behind the carpet and under the dashboard and make sure these are clear of the brakes when depressed. Its just a start, hope this helps. Might have to take it in to see exactly what is wrong, and get a price quote.

For the power steering, if it doesnt make any weird noises from under the hood, you just lose assist, then you're probably looking at a new solenoid on the steering rack.. If the speedo goes out too, you might need a new instrument cluster.

Its very possible though the issues are related, because the PS system gets its vehicle speed signal from the instrument cluster... You have had no issues with fuses blowing, though?
