WOW.

You know, even with the low miles, that's a lot of $. Especially when miles mean NOTHING on a Q.

If it was IPQ, I'd offer $10K.

yeah....the guy is going to have a hard time finding somebody with $10,000+ in cash laying around as I don't think that any decent bank will finance a car this old...regardless of the mileage.

NADA pricing for these 2 cars 94. 9500 miles =$8200 hi retail, 95 with 65K hi retail $8000

Pheonix is right on price, other is 100% over. AGE does matter a lot.

A car ages by it's mileage more so then actual time...

With less then 10,000 miles it should be in stellar condition.

I would agree 65k isn't low enough to justify the price..

but with under 10,000 miles, unless it was just terribly maintained during it's short driven life span, it's going to be nice..

Mine is coming with somewhere around 13,000 miles, so I should have some first hand experience with this shortly.. of course my paranoia/perfectionist state will probably have me replacing things anyway.

However, if you consider that a 100K Q has virtually no engine wear, and the 9K mile Q probably needs seals and rubber replaced (just like a high-mileage Q), it's certainly not worth double the amount just for the low miles.

I'll bet it is in great shape - I'd love to see it.

Yea, that is probably true. The value would hopefully be shown in the interior condition, and relatively unused state of most of it's parts.

If it had collector car status like say a supra, that 16,500 would be considered cheap. It needs 5,000+ of performance parts to come close to justifying that price....

I'll bet it's sweet - Can you imagine how clean the carpet must be? The unworn brake and gas pedals?

Hope the leather was treated frequently - I saw a 22K mile 1991 Q come through the dealership once that had been garaged, but the leather was never conditioned since new - Cracked, dry and tired. The owner (inherited it from dad) was SO disappointed.

Might be like getting into a time machine...

All I ever see is people complaining about the Q leather being "unconditionable"

Good to know the conditioning has some lasting effect on the leather.

Dude, that Zaino conditioner is SO nice...

The best advice I ever got about leather came from a guy who restores antique Jags. He said, "Leather is skin - treat it like a woman treats her skin and it'll stay beautiful for a lifetime."

Makes sense to me.

The more I think about.. since just about every mechanical part will be replaced, and the engine is golden for so long, the real reason to buy a lower mileage Q is for interior conditioning and whatever peace of mind having a low mileage q may bring..

Yep.

And then, would you really want to put a lot of miles on it?

Actually, if I was searching for a low-mileage one, to store and preserve and drive on weekends, I'd want it to be a early-production 90 model.

I may have to check this out in a couple of months. I was thinking of finding an active, but that may be too much to maintain. Might have to visit TexasOil and see if an active is what I want.

Thanks to texasoils accomplishments with regards to recharging, I would say active cars can be cheaper to maintain then normal suspensioned equiped Qs.. of course there are many variables in this equation, but it's argueable..

Good ol american ingenuity...

I think its about the same. If its been decently maintained before you dont have to worry about struts. You do have to worry about accumulators, and the rest of the suspension rubber things.....

Its if the system is trashed that you look into the big $$$$

That gold car, on Autotrader is a rare find, but definitely NOT worth more than $10,000

I do want another Q, under 100K miles, but will not pay that kinda money. I am looking for something around $5k

Still want silver, too. Might go for black, or IPQ
