i was curious if the stock oil pressure sending unit can be hooked up to an electric oil pressure gauge?

You want to use the signal off the OEM oil pressure switch to what the oil pressure is at a digital or analog gauge?

The short answer to that question is no!

You can't use the stock sending unit (it's just a switch).. You can however get adapters and whatnot to use an aftermarket gauge.
