i guess the check engine icon does not light up but a light above it? if so my check engine lit up for 30 seconds today doing about 60-80 WOT towards red line heard a high level hiss from around the fuel pump then noticed light, i had advanced my timing a few weeks ago and hit fuel cut off a couple of times, do not know if related,

Sounds like one of your LEDs is misplaced. What is the light above the check engine light? Pull the code.

Hes referring to the icon... You konw theres the little picture of the engine, and then the light comes on above it... Most cars the icon lights up instead of the light above it like the Q...

If it was only at WOT it wasnt from o2 sensors (injcetor leak)..

Was it during WOT or after it?

gotta tell you- - - when i turn the car off it resets until i trigger it again the only thing i can think is WOT high demand and high heat my mechanic reminded me that i still have an old O2 sensor that we were not able to remove , not when cold ,,not when hot ; passenger side BTY . was gonna take it down from engine but bolts were frozen solid sooo i have been living with it -- poorest fuel milege - i am a very demanding and the Q gets pushed hard about 4 to 5 hours a day 1.5 each way commute and multiple outings getting mixed use milege 65 o/o highway here it is 13mpg consistent GOTTA love it as well he told me to check my gas cap -- which BTY had a ton of pressure gas fumes when i opened it,, we are gonna see the best way to the O2 sensor - ta da

Might be getting a new catalytic converter soon, too!

Let it sit with some pentrating oil for a day or two.

There is supposed to be pressure in the gas tank, especially if you are riding on low fuel levels, low fuel mean more fumes. Like someone suggested get some penetrating spray on the 02s and let it sit a couple days.

An easier way to heat it up would be just run the car for a couple minutes.

Heh, I usually hear about how hard it is to get the manifold off. If that's the case you might be SOL till you apply a BFH.
