hey all, i bought a 95 pathfinder from a guy and i couldnt pick it up, and he delivered it. when i got home, i jumped in and it wouldnt move, called him and after a few minutes he told me he pulled it with the drive wheels down. so, i knew it was burnt. my question is, what is it that gets burned up when this happens? just the pump, or pretty much everything? i can take one apart and put it back together, but im far from a transmission guy. thanks!

Now remember when a hydraulic pump is dry it releases parts and fluid into the main stream. You are going to do a complete fluid change within the transmission except the torque converter. A flush especially for any solenoids is best to keep crap from them and any internal friction material.
Clean the filter but really inspect, how long that pump operated when dry is unknown. Some particulate matter in the pan is normal but check when you get it off, it may help you decide how bad it really is in there.
Passage ways, valves, and journal ways must be clean.

Happy hunting!
