95 pathfinder failsafe

hi, have a recently purchased 1995 nissan pathfinder believe has gone into failsafe. dropped the trans pan, no unusual shavings. power boost light worked until recently, no longer lighting, therefore cannot self diagnose trans issue. had the power light work briefly when i switched the led, then it went back out. not exactly sure where the a/t control unit is located. no codes in the ecu. speedometer works, engine purrs, goes into reverse. suspect wiring or actual a/t unit itself. could not find a/t unit location on alldata (am i just overlooking it?). have all the right tools, just need to know where to stick em. any info would be greatly appreciated.19

what makes you think its in failsafe? is it stuck in 3rd gear for some reason???

You can do the self diagnosis for the AT... ill post that up if you dont have a FSM.
