95 Nissan 240sx "CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CODE P1400"

I have a 95 Nissan 240sx automatic. I recently got a diog and the code read p1400 which comes up to be the egr and canister control solenoid valve. What is it exactily i have to replace to fix problem and where can i find the parts. Thanks Guys so much!!!!!

You should download the FSM and look there. It has a whoole lot relating to the EGR.

I actually had a P1400 and just replaced the EGR solenoid valve yesterday, the old one was dead. My car runs a whole lot better so far, I could tell a difference immediately. The check engine light's still on though due to an exhaust leak at the EGR piping, so it's not perfect yet.

None of the Nisssan dealerships had the part in my area and I had to order it. It's called an "EGRC solenoid valve." It was about 80 bucks.

Thanks for the reply to my post. I jus called nissan for the " EGRC SOLENOID VALVE" and they said that i have to pull the actual EGRC SOLENOID VALVE from my car ( 95 nissan 240sx) and copy the part number so they can cross reference the part number to the part they carry. Is there anyway you know the part number for EGRC SOLENOID VALVE so i can let them know. Thanks a bunch

Part number was 114956-41U0A. I paid $73.64 plus tax but prices vary by dealer.

Thanks for the help i went to nissan and got the egrc solenoid valve. Now lol i need to know where exactily the part is located, i cant find it ive been looking online for pics or diagrams and cant find nothing!

i'm experiencing the same problem. i looked online and the FSM but still could not locate the part in the car. i think i founf the sub-harness connector but that's it, couldnt find the actual solenoid valve. please help. thank you, if you could, please include a picture of the part in the car. thanks

hey i'm wondering if that works for my engine code as well i keep getting p1445 and it tells me its the "egr canister purge control valve" do u guys think there close enough to be the same thing? i got every other code fixed but that one and i can tell it makes a difference cuz i know i should be getting better gas mileage than i'm gettin now, well anyways any help u guys give me would greatly appreciated.

my car is the 1995 nissan 240sx. i think mine is OBDI . the ecu flashed the code 105 wich in the FSM is the p1400.

yeah the p1400 code is most def the " egrc solenoid valve" you can only get it from the nissan dealer. The problem i am having now is that i cant find where the EGRC SOLENOID VALVE is located in the car (95 nissan 240 sx) . CAN ANYONE PLEASE SEND A PIC OF WHERE IT IS LOCATED OR DIRECTIONS TO GET TO IT. THANK YOU SO MUCH GUYS

have fun changing that puppy. its located on the back of the cyl head with a few vac lines coming off it. i did it in myy old s13, and the s14 i have now it is acting up on. def not a fun job with the motor in the car.

i have the same year same everything and the same problem with my car. and wats wierd is that the ob2 fit on my 95 240sx. which everybody has told me that its obd1 but it still fit and worked it told me the p1400 and also the knock sensor but i changed that and after that it didnt show up. but i still need to find out about that code p1400 cuz my gay check engine light is on and i cant smog my car someone plz help with pics and everything

i threw a code for that once.... then i went to look for it, saw where it was and gave up.... it's deep in there.... but now i don't throw a code for it, i had fixed something else and i guess that solved my problem... good luck with it though....

It's in the FSM. You're just going to have to look for it. Most FSM's have an emissions related chapter. Otherwise, most FSM's have a section in Engine Mechanical or Electrical that shows Component Locations. If the solenoid has failed you probably won't pass without it. Just have to dig in there and do it.

dude, i have the same problem, mine is a 96 so it has a OBD11, code P1400, anyway the EGRC valve solenoid is under the upper intake manifold. Already replaced mine cost me $320.00 for the solenoid and the 2 gaskets, nissan parts only. Code went away on the first start of the car but as soon as I started it for the second time, the code came back. I erased the code with my scanner and took it to get smog and it failed, the technician said " failed for chk eng. light and drive cycle". Dont know what drive cycle means, I guess have to drive it a while, but the code is still there. dont know what else can it be. It's Non-Op at the moment till I get it fixed.
