Noob Alert

I recently bought a 95 240sx KA24DE (all stock, no mods), and discovered the head gasket needed replaced. Boy, did this bad boy ever need a good going over. The poor thing looks to have been neglected and mistreated for a long time. I got it off, and am now putting the whole thing back together. Everything was going smoothly with the help of the FSM, Chilton's, and this site, but I'm now stuck. I can't get the lower timing chain back on. My question is this: Is there some secret mystical 240sx voodoo that I'm not aware of that'll help me get the chain back on? Or am I going to need to remove the entire front cover and do something there?

I await your unending and vast knowledge for assistance, guys. I'm pretty much a noob in expert-mode territory here, but with the help and encouragement of my friend/roomie that's helping, I shall overcome. Please help! Any assistance and/or advice is helpful.

Thanks again!

I've never had the (dis)pleasure of fiddling with the KA. Let's get this over to the KA forum and see if we can't get you some more help!

I put the chain on the crank sprocket, and had the upper sprocket in my hand. Put chain on upper sprocket, then bolt sprocket to head. Then release whatever I had holding the tensioner back.
