95 maxima check engine light HELP!!!

I can't get the plastic panal off by the gas pedal for the mode selector. there's no screws in it and i'v tried to pull it off but i don't want to break it. does anybody know how to get it off? this check engine light is making me mad. PLEASE HELP!!! THANKS

Just pull on either end of the panel with some force, and it should come off. There are two plastic pins that hold it in place.
