'95 Maxima Auto transmission wont go in reverse

'95 Maxima/182,000.I noticed that it would shift hard into drive but when driving in stop and go traffic it would shift just fine through the gears.Now it will not go in reverse now but drive does work.What does it sound like?What do I check for and what should I be prepared to spend?

sounds like you may need to replace the transmission

check the cooler lines for what? this is a fluid pressure failure and/or a mechanical clutch failure, based on the symptoms. i don't understand what the oil cooler lines would have to do with this problem?
