Actually, here is a link to his site.

http://www.hlh0501.com/index.html

Click on 5-Speed Conversion. I think there is a way to contact him through his site with any questions you might have. :D

For some reason I cant copy the emails, but I can give you the website he recomended for me. Since the site was down so he gave me Google's cache of the site. The pics arent working for me but it is still informative. I just checked it out a couple minutes ago. I cant believe I had the site for about a month and never noticed it until now. After reading the site there is a chance Ill do this after the 240. Good luck.

http://www.hlh0501.com is back up now...

and as far as tranny, i originally just had a whole donor car that i pulled all my parts from. I went back later and had a cryo treated new gear-ratiod tranny made using the canadian maxima LSD.. and yes it was a little expensive before it was over. my suggestion to you for converting? call a junkyard with the list of parts from my website instructions and just tell them you need all the parts for a conversion and read that list to them. dont try and buy each part, buy it all together - muccch cheaper. except get a new clutch, master and slave cylinder. thats all i can think right now good luck

Are there any American cars that I can get an LSD from for a descent price? Or is it cheaper to get an aftermarket LSD?

Also, the turbo kit you have for sale on the site. Is it one that you made yourself and if so how much? Alright 2 more questions (I think). How much does a 95 Maxima engine with manual transmission go for? Or would it be cheaper to just rebuild the engine I have before turboing it?

You can get the 5speed tranny w/ VLSD from a Infiniti I30t or a canadian model maxima. Both of those are not real easy to find though. And if you talk to a junkyard who claims to have a LSD tranny, dont believe them. 99% of them will say yes when they don't.

All the turbo kit information is on my website http://www.hlh0501.com/turbo.htm.

Maxima motor with tranny, I am not sure where you buy them together unless you are buying like a donor car. You can usually find a maxima motor (vq30de) for ~275 - 350$ , but what is wrong with yours? Mileage isn't such a big issue just run a compression test :) Maxima tranny's, even non-lsd get a little more pricey though starting in the 600 range

So even though the car has 227000 highway miles, just do a compression test. What kind of #s should I be expecting? Also where can I do the test?

Any competent mechanic can do it for you.An even better measurement of an engine health is a leakdown test for all 6 cylinders.

Like Hal; said Maxima engines are durable ( which is why they are so cheap from a junkyard since few PPL ever need new ones)

Thanks fred. Maybe I can talk my father into letting me do a test. It still runs pretty strong and is fast but the 190 hp isnt enough. Within the year Ill try to talk my father to letting me to start mildly modding the car. He still considers the car his, but my mom says its mine. I want to start off with a tune up, then do an Injen intake. Im not sure about the exhaust though. I might get the stillen, but I dont know what it sounds like or heard any other views on it. Any info?
