95 Max tach

Im new to this forum and have tried a few searched but really dont know where to start...

I just bought a 95 maxima and the only thing that doesnt work on it is the tach

Its a stick and although I can deal without Id prefer to have it.

The tach moves about 30% of the time I drive and other times is very far off.

Does anyone know a place to start, is it the entire gauge cluster or just as simple as a sensor etc?

Another tach issue...strange...

It's kind of hard to say without seeing the car in person. It could be the cluster itself, or it might be a bad signal going to the tach.
