I have a 1995 Maxima and I replaced the passenger side halogen headlight bulb a couple weeks ago after it burned out. I've probably replaced the front halogen lights about 5 times since 1995 (and always purchased new ones from my Nissan dealership). I replaced it during the day quickly noticing that it worked without looking at its brightness and comparing it to the driver side headlight. Tonight, I pulled up to a white garage door and noticed that the passener side headlight was a yellow color (it's the first time I actually looked at the bulb at night since I had replaced it). I recall that when I replaced the bulb, the new one looked slightly different than the one I was replacing. I just looked at my Nissan reciept and it says "part no. 99990-H9004 I03 HALOGEN BU $10.41" underneath that it says "Part number 99990-H9004 replaces 26296-8".So apparently, the new "Nissan" halogen part number replaces the original part number. The difference in the color of the new halogen is pretty extreme...it's very bright yellow....is this the result of the new Nissan bulb replacement? If not, does this indicate a grounding problem? (I read in other fourms that defective grounding can cause dim headlights). If it is a grounding problem, where specifically should I be looking for it (the grounding problem). Thanks in advance for any advice.
