95 240sx, burgundy, spoiler, all stock, 271k miles. Car has no rust, no dents, decent paint, 5-speed, and dirty interior. How much do you think it's worth and what do you think about the high milage motor as a daily driver?

It has original motor, original clutch. The guy's wife drove it 200 miles a day for work and school. They are the original owners, it's a southern car that has never seen snow. Everything on the car works, OEM player, air, windows, locks, except for the washer squirter. It needs new struts. The headlights are yellowed, how do you get rid of that?

What do you thinks it's worth?

Mothers Aluminum polish and some elbow grease will brighten up the headlights. I think with that many miles it should sell for $2500 I bought my 96 with 112000 fro $3500. And that was a year ago.

That is a lot of miles for a clutch to have. But yeah, low 2000s sounds accurate. Please replace the clutch if you get it.

May sound like a silly question, but have you driven it?

I will be test driving it this evening. What should I be looking for? Possible 1st time 240sx owner here! so I don't know what to look for.

All I know is it was "lady-driven" daily for 200 miles a day. Not that I wouldn't replace the clutch but, if it was seeing 5th gear 90% of the time....it's probably got a year or two left in it even for 271k.

Since this car is a 4-lug s14... will my 16" Rota Slipstream's off my old civic fit this bolt pattern. I think the wheels are 4x100mm.

Your Rota's will not fit a 4-lug 240, the lug pattern is 4x114.3. You say this is a four-lug, but you said it was an LE (1995). I'm a bit confused here, only in 97-98 there were LE's in the US, but in Canada, there were 95 LE's. But you said the car is a southern car?

Before I found this 240sx, I was lookin at a 94 Maxima with 212k miles... perfect running condition. The Maxima's owner's parent's had a pair of Maxima's with over "1 MEELLION" miles between the two of them!!!!

I heard about this 240sx for sale through word of mouth, I was told It was an LE. Maybe they meant it wasn't and SE cuz I asked if it had the white faced gauges on it. He said no but it had a factory spoiler...maybe that's where he got "LE" from? So what's the difference, between the different trim levels for a 1995 240sx? All I can think of is white faced gauges, spoiler, 5-lug wheels, anything else? If this car is not an LE or an SE, what is it?

I'm gonna check it out tonight and drive it, I'll keep you guys updated.

That's a lot of money for a car with that many miles. I mean, yeah, I'm sure a lot of them were highway miles, but that's really not the issue. For me, that's just a little too close to 300K.

I bought my 91 S13 (previous generation 240sx, fastback model) with 190,000 on the odo. For me, the car + headers + intake + aftermarket wheels = 2100. You've got like 80,000 miles more on a car that's four years younger. I wouldn't pay more than 2200-2500 for it. Expect that you'll rebuild or replace the motor in the next year, have a transmission flush and seal, replace the clutch, install a new fuel filter, possibly the injectors, etc. etc. Also, you'll probably want to clean up the interior.

Also, make sure you can get ahold of as much of the paperwork as you can. Having a tangible history for the car is worth a couple hundred bucks, in my opinion, and while certainly not a deal-breaker, buying a car without service papers will leave you in the dark as to what has and hasn't been done. Look to see if the 30k, 60k and 90k tuneups have been done.

After that, just make sure you like the way it sounds and rides.

Yeah, even though they are highway miles, the car was driven by a woman and I think it's safe to say that not everything mechanical is up to par. I'm not trying to be sexist or anything, it's just the truth. 95+% of the girls I know think that all their car needs to run is gasoline. Seriously, the chick that was the first owner of my car sold it to the guy I bought it off of because it was running poorly. She sold it for cheap. The guy replaced the plugs and the car was good as new. Now, I'm sorry if I offend anyone with this post. When you go look at the car, ask if any maintenance was done to it.

*Now I know that there are some girls out there who know their s*** when it comes to cars, and you are all awesome.
