Well it depends on what your target horsepower is.

What are your goals for the car?

How do you intend to use the car?

If you intend to turbo the car in the future then buying headers will only set you back further when you have to buy a turbo manifold. The exhaust will also change depending on which direction you want to take.

The intake is a good place to start since no matter what you do in the future, with the exception of some autocross classifications, it will be desired or needed.

If this is the '90 in your sig then you may want to replace some suspension components like bushings with some poly urethane units first or your shocks with new units or coilovers so you can get your engines power to the ground better. An upgraded suspension will make the car more fun to drive day in and day out as well.

goals. every day driver that doesn't want the average civic that thinks hes hot stuff to beat him. i mean if sombody in a rice rocket starts beaten on the 240 i want to put him in his place (ya'll know what i mean right )

turboing? i doubt it. if i ever want it turboed i'll swap it.

Try to find some '91 cams too. I dont know how much an S14 weighs, but in my bone stock (original exhaust too) '91 Coupe i can keep up surprisingly well with my friend in his new A4. Theyre only 170hp and it has to put that to 4 wheels, and its probably heavier than an S14... but needless to say i can easily whip past your average mexicali ricer. I just really need to do the speed governor bypass mod cuz hitting 115 without watching your speedometer is startling and dissappointing.

if you did plan to swap the engine, what would you go with and why. sr rb.? why would you prefer this as to going ka-t? you spend less money and produce a stronger powerplant. plus you get a sh^tload of torque. just food for thought..

Curb weight on a 95 is 2753 for base models, and 2760 for SE models, These apply to a manual trans also. Auto is 2815, and 2830 respectively.

why not ka-t? because i don't think any engine that doesn't come stock turboed is meant to be turboed. i heard itwares them out faster and i dont want to do that. I don't know though if i can all the parts i need cheap enough i might do it. But theres a better chance that ill never have enough money laying around for a ka-t project much less a swap.

man, go with coilover first, i swear you will not regret it, i wish i woulda done that first. who cares if you not gunna have more speed, you will enjoy it more around the turns, unless your not that kind of guy. if you just want power then do your basic bolt ons. intake, exaust, that sorta thing.

Honestly though the best mod I have done to the car was also the cheapest. A short shifter, I know it sounds funny but it makes your car more fun to drive (more like a sports car and not a truck). Also another thing you can do is shorten the short shifter. The OBX short shifter is the same length as the teh original shifter just the ball is in a different location to make the throws shorter, so I cut out the dead section where the threads start and before it starts to taper down and re welded it together no it look so much sportier and not so damn tall!

i probably wouldnt have done that, i wouldnt shift too hard now or your gunna be screwed going down the road. i dont care if you did weld it. ive seen so many welds break. just hope it doesnt happen to you

Actually welds are stronger than the orginal metal. First off it shifts fine, hard, soft whatever it's been this way for almost 3 years. Second Its what I do, I am in the military and Weld and NDI gear for helicopters in the Marine Corps so it'll hold! Third it was done the correct way, I ground down the remaining sections to a triangle and laid a bead around the inside and worked my way out and then grinded it flat! She's all good!
