95 Ka-T running rich and will not go over 3000 rpm

Just got my Ka-T finished again. Now here is the problem. Started up great but it is 10 on my afr meter and it is smoking black smoke out the tail pipe and it will only rev to 2500-3000 then die down and then make a pop sound out the exhaust. My setup is a T-28 with a tuned ecu with the stock maf and 370 injectors.I am thinking maf. Any help would be a great help. Thanks Brian

just by reading title MAFS. Swap out with a known working one to see.

your ecu is goin into limp mode, due to more than likely the MAFs.(limp mode = 2500 or so rpm limit and rich conditions.)

Let us know if the MAF fixes the problem. Also, change your oil before you drive the car. Running afr's that rich almost guarantee's that you have fuel in the oil and that will lead to serious issues down the road if not right away.

Ok, After I put the new Maf on it still would not go over 3000 rpm. So my dad said it could be my ecu. So I put my stock in and it ran great. While taking it out I heard something rattling around inside, so I took the cover off and to my surprise was a chip that came loose. So I called Efi specialist talked me through on how to put it back in. He said this happened during shipment. Three weeks later and finally fixed.
