Well i searched my a$$ off and couldn't find any info on the differences if any on swapping a '95 KA into a '91 chassis (threw a rod in the '91 motor), i know the distributor are different ( internal coil vs. external coil), but will this be a plug and play job ? motor swap aren't new to me, i have done several slant 6 and SB, to big block, raised block swaps in about a dozen older Mopar's, but nothing fuel injected till now, can i just unbolt all the accessory items and their brackets off the '91 and bolt them to the '95, will the distributor bolt up and work, are there any sensors i need to bypass or modify to work correctly ? I will be doing the swap later tonight once the motor gets here (being deliviered from tampa)

Thanks in advance guys,

-Mike

Most stuff will bolt up. I think you will have some problems with your harness. There are a few connectors that need to be spliced /changed to the 95. Your ecu should work but don't quote me on that not a 100%.

I'll answer in short form for what you did ask and add extraneous at the end...

The main difference lies in the coil, you will have to use a 91-93 distributor(the one you have) on the 95 engine to keep the external coil.

Make sure the engine is NOT OBD2 emissions style (some 95's are, soem aren't); and if it is just cut all of the crap on top of the intake runners out; looks kinda like metal dreadlocks on top of the intake runners...The reason you're looking for this is because you'll have to reuse your 91 ECU and harness for the swap. With the OBD2 engine, you'll have extra plugs and throw codes.

Other than that....its all pretty similar and very plug and play- R&R. Good luck, it really won't be a difficult swap!

If you click on the tab at the top of this page "Nissan Infiniti Forums - NICOclub," there is a section called Articles. In there I did a good ol' write up about and SOHC to DOHC, in case you want to get real technical. Not much applies to your swap, but its worth a read.

bitchin frapjap, yea i haven't swapped anything out yet, doing a small gasket/timing chain work on it first, and no, it doesn't have dem steel dreas maaan !! yea for $500, i got everything, motor, a complete harness, i mean complete, nothing cut, every sensor, on the motor, the complete distributor, all the brackets, hell i even got the motor mounts, and there in great shape !!! Royal Auto Recycling in Bradenton,FL, killer people to deal with, and they have a well stocked supply of 240's, everything from a couple of '89's through the new(used) '97, they guy i was working with on this *Eric* has a '89 with a CA18, 5-lug swap (which he got from the junk 240's, but i hope i can still salvage the other block, otherwise i am parting it out *sniff*, but tomorrow i will be getting the hoist and engine stand over to the shop to start the teardown,

If you keep the outer intake the heater hoses will be a pita because in 95 they came out the side not out the back like in 91. You will have to run one line custom so its not kinked. I would keep your stock ecu and harness in the car. There is one plug in the back that will need to be lenghthend to reach the sensor in 95 they put it down farther. I took my cams out of my 91 and put them in my 95 engine while I was doing the swap. one vacume line will not match upto the vacume canister so I got lazy and put a bolt in it but it runs and idles fine no codes. I dont know if my 95 alternator was bad but I had to swap my 91 on it and then it charged right.

No problem, and thanks for the compliment! When you were at that yard, you didn't happen to see a black s13 did you? I could really use a hood and front bumper. Hell, even if you gave me their number I'd give them a ringy ding ding.
