95 J30 rear right window stuck in down position

Car is pristine 94M miles. This window has probably been raised and lowered a couple dozen times at most in all its years.Lowered it this evening to fit in some long pieces of floor moulding to drive home (so there was slight pressure exerted down on window as pieces rested on top) I can hear (solenoid?) click, but window won't raise. I can wiggle window easily (mechanicals are attached), but cannot raise from bottom position. Is motor dead or is something stuck that I cannot see? Hate to think what new motor costs!

window regulators suck on the j's they go out after a few years. theres a place in new york that fixes them for $55 but you have to send yours into them.

try pulling it up by hand (while you push the close button). hopefully you can. because if not, the motors probably fried

Here's the scoop. regulator was fine. Motor worked fine when bench tested, but racheted when in car under load. Mystery to my mechanics.Replaced with rebuilt motor and all is good. Bad news, troubleshooting cost a lot of time.
