Pass. side, way up front (at radiator), there is a small drip (a couple-three drops during sitting for a few hours) of a very thick oil, clear, that appears off the end of what I think is the sway bar bushing. Almost like a very thick gear oil. Will drip immediately after using car, but stop after a while. I can see that drips have splattered back into the wheel well, but very lightly. No oil looking down in around power steering, AC, etc. that I can see without putting the car up on a lift. Not transmission or engine oil.Do these cars have hydrolic motor mounts that may leak?Everything looks clean, otherwise.

Thanks as always!

Sounds like you need new tension rod bushings. They need to be pressed into the rods. Or spend more and get the rods with bushings pre-installed.

Also, car has 86M miles, all regular services and never needed any repairs. All original. Tires and suspension fine. AC works fine. Engine smooth.

The bushings are filled? How critical is repairing this immediately?

Filled with silicone. Handling will suffer, and so will the ride. Other things will wear a little faster because of the extra slop. Probably not life threatening, but if you start to hear clanging or knocking you're way past due.

Sounds like you nailed it. :-) Never would have guessed silicone.

I'm too fussy to let these things go, anyway. It'll be fixed shortly.

Great prices, much better than your local dealership. The bushings for the old Qs are around $15-20 each I think, and the rod assemblies are about $90 each. J parts' prices should be in the same ballpark.

Ordered a bushing from them today- almost half the price of my local dealer!Shows you how big the profit margins can be with dealers.
