95 Infinty G20 Dead #4 Cylinder

I just got this 1995 G20, 188,xxx miles. Mechanic said it has good compression on all cylinders. Had been sitting for 4-6 weeks.

Runs rough, pulled spark plug wires one at a time and #4 does not change anything. Wire was loose on the 'extension' that goes down to plug, replaced wire - got HOT spark. Removed plug, looks wet with fuel. swapped plugs from a good cylinder, still runs rough and #4 does not change performance with/without plug wire connected.

Interestingly, tried to run engine without #4 plug, would not run. Popped from compression though.

Oh, cannot read codes, don't know how to get to the ECU for the switch. Check engine light flashes on highway, stays on off highway.

Any ideas? Any at all? Or, did I get hozed on this deal?

I had the same problem with a friends car (95 g20) but it was #1 then a year later #2. My issue turned out to be a dead fuel injector.

Number 1 isn't so bad to change, but the other 3 are a pain. Might want to plan on replacing some vacuum hoses after you pull the plenum off the intake manifold
