95 Infiniti J30 Power Steering Question

I have a 1995 Infiniti J30 and on Sunday morning when I went to drive my car, I noticed that when I turned my car on my ABS light was on and when I turned my steering wheel while in reverse, it would make almost a grinding noise. Later on that day the ABS light went off and has been off since, but I still hear the noise when turning my steering wheel, not only while in reverse but also while I am just normally turning while in drive. Does this mean that my power steering is going out? Do I just simply need power steering fluid? Help!

have you checked the fluid level ?
Normally when its low you get a squeaky sound when turning.

I haven't. Can you tell me where to check this?

If i recall the reservoir is on the Drivers side in the engine bay.
Had a black cap that unscrews.
the dipstick is attached to the cap.

Power steering is on the passenger side, brake is on tue drivers side. Use ATF for PS fluid
