We have a 95 Hardbody with taillight issues. The passenger side tends to come and go. I can remove the light and reset the bulb to get it working but the connector seems to not be keeping the base of the socket in place. This little harness is no longer available so we'll have to purchase the entire light and lens for that side.

I am thinking of going aftermarket with one of the LED sets out there and would like to know if anyone has experience with using some of these. I'm wondering if this will get away from using the current socket and plug in place into the harness before the socket.

cheap chinese crap that look stupid imo. plus if one led burns out it can't replaced individually.

go to junk yard and get one.

Really stupid question, but I've seen it done, but are you sure you are using the correct bulb?

Junkyard is best but first look into the socket if it is white and oxidized or rusty get some sandpaper wrap around your finger and scuff it up. Sockets are known to do this. If that dos not fix it junkyard is best cheapest easiest answer.

Ditto on RT22's advice. I had an issue with one of my front turn signal bulbs not getting ground due to a rusty socket. Cleaning it with a little drum with sand paper on it on my dremel tool worked nicely. Same concept as RT mentioned. Use some dielectric grease (sometimes sold as "bulb grease") to keep it from rusting again.
