Hi all.. I'm on here for my brother.. He's got a 95 nissan hardbody XE pickup... 4cyl, automatic....Ok here's the deal... the truck went dead and wouldnt crank back up on him the other day (had a similar problem with my stanza and it was the ground wire had come off the connector on the fuel pump..easy to do on the side of the road lol)... ok so we pulled the tank and fuel pump out.. messed around with it till we found the ground wire was either corroded or shorted in some manner... got it to fire right up, checked everything and replaced all 5 wires and connectors on the fuel pump set up (pos/neg on pump, pos/neg on gauge and a connector to some sort of resistor). Checked it again.. all is ok.. pump priming like a charm... installed everything... went to turn it over and popped the fuse... pulled the tank back out... well.. here's the verdict...When the tank is bolted to the frame, it pops the fuse.. with the tank on the ground, it will turn over fine... could one of these new connectors (they are larger than the original) have something to do with the ground issue here? The fuse pops with the tank bolted to the frame only.Ideas???... I'm electrically challenged... Thanks!
