When I start my car warm it goes right to warm idle rather than revving up and back down to warm idle like most cars (IE tach jumps to 1500 and then right back down to proper idle). Is this normal behavior or should I have something looked at? It starts normally all other times and there is no check engine light. Could I need to have the IAC and throttle body cleaned out? My alternator belt is also slipping and needs to be replaced, could that have anything to do with it? Or could it just be that my car is getting old and is affected by cold weather?

And would an engine coolant flush do some good? I'm not sure when it was last done...which brings me to the question of if the coolant is old, do I run a risk of leaks after a coolant flush? (currently none)

I think you are overanalyzing stuff.... As long as its smooth going up to it, I see no problem.....

Cleaning stuff out will never hurt, and i think you will be pleased with some added smoothness......

Coolant flush should be done with drain and refills, not a flush at the dealer where they wouldnt used distilled water..... Unless things are rotten to bits, no leaks will develop.. And youd be happy to have leaks rather to have stuff blow up if it was that bad...
