I have a 95 G20 with 92,000 miles. I drove it 1 mile from my home and it just quit. It is getting fuel and spark. It cranks over but there is not even a hint of it wanting to start and run. Does any one have any suggestions of where to begin looking?

Compression test each cylinder. Was there any knocking sounds before it quit running?

I just did a compression ck. 3 cylinders are 180 and 1 is 110. When I started the car in the morning , as I backed out of garage it sounded like I back over a can under the front passenger wheel. I drove for over a mile and it just stopped. No warning. It was running fine.

110 is well under minimum compression. That is part of the problem.

The mechanic who did the compression ck said he felt it was the timing chain.

What will that entail? What kind of cost will it be? Thanks for any info you can give me. Also thank you for setting me on the trail fo the compression ck. That was helpful.

If the timing chain broke, buy another motor. Will be less hassle and I could swap a motor in less time than replacing a timing chain, which the motor will have to be pulled anyways in order to do this. http://www.tigerjapanese.com for sr20's.

i WANTED TO LET EVERYONE KNOW WHAT HAPPENED TO MY 95 g20. wE FIRST THOUGHT IT WAS THE TIMING CHAIN. hOWEVER IT TURNED OUT TO BE THE DISTRIBUTOR. Quite an ordeal just to replace it...

Now I have a problem with our 92 G20. If anyone can help me I would really appreciate the advise. We were coming home the other day, and while driving the warning light for the brake came on. The antilock light also came on. When we got home and shut the car off it would not crank over. I found the "engine control fuse" to be blown and replaced it. The car started right up. But once I shut it off the fuse blew again. Does anyone have any idea what I am missing. Thanks in advance for any advise you can give me. My email address is [email protected].

I don't trust tiger for motors, a few too many bad experiences but that was with honda motors I was doing swaps on and they are a bit cheaper than most so if you're feeling lucky go with it.
