I have a good motor and manual trans from a 95 240 that I will soon be dropping into my automatic 96 whose wiring harness is burned up to the firewall. So I will be using the wiring harness from the 95 engine also. I have unhooked the wiring harnesses in both cars and they look pretty much the same, however, I don't have the cars in the same place to compare them, and it seems as though there were some different plugs coming from each of the wiring harnesses. My memory may have failed me, and I plan on investigating this more, but can somebody tell me if I am going to have any problems with the electrical going from 95-96 and from auto to manual? thanks

correct me if I am wrong(anyone) but there are gonna be differant wires because of sensors for the auto that the manual doesnt have like, i forgot exactly what its called but keeps the car from starting in anything but park and nuetral...So thats probably why they look differant...the 95 and 96 are exactly the same though so there shouldnt be any probs.

Don't forget the 95 stuff is obdI and the 96 car is obdII. If you are worried about emissions because this is a daily driver you are going to have some issues that will cause you to fail. I would try to trade someone for a 96 5spd harness if it were me. You can just swap everythig over and still have a car that runs, you probalbly will have a cel. Good luck

what you're saying is that the emmissions equipment will not read the car correctly am I right? So since I live in a place where there are not any inspections I should have nothing to worry about? thanks for the info

what about the sensors that go on the clutch pedal, will there be a way or a need to hook those up? I don't even know what any of that stuff does. thanks
