Well i finally got a chance to get under the dang car and rip this thing out. Just used a 10mm flare nut wrench to undo the hardline into the dampener and the line from the dampener to the slave cylinder hose. Then used a 10mm socket to remove the 2 bolts holding the entire dampener assembly to the "frame". The hardline from the mastercylinder was very easy to twist/bend up to the slave cyl hose.

I was FINALLY able to get the air out of the system, which only took about 2min. This fixed my hanging clutch pedal. Once i released the clutch the pedal would sometimes stay down approx 2" from the top, but now it comes all the way back up.

I also removed both the lower and upper heat shields, so now my annoying rpm dependent vibrations are gone...all in all a good day.

I thought the s14's didn't come with a clutch dampener? Anyhow, I've been wanting to install my ss clutch line ever since I got it back in December. The only problem is my friends are too chicken to help me bleed the clutch. We f**ked up last time by not bleeding the dampener first so they're afraid that it's going to happen again . Do you think a 10mm combination wrench will work just fine or is a flare wrench really necessary?

you might bend/crack/strip the nut if you use an open wrench.

its a VERY good chance you will.

What exactly happened cause you guys didn't bleed the dampner first? You're scaring me now cause I have to do mine tonight...ever since the new clutch went in, it shifts fine for a few miles and then after the car warms up, it's like the clutch doesn't disengage, hell the car moves when i start it up in 1st gear with the clutch all the way in...but anyways, did something drastic happen when u bled only the slave cylinder?

Yeah, the push rod on the slave came off and a lot of dirt went inside the master cylinder...
