Remove the distributor cap. if oil pours from it you need to replace the whole distributor as the internal seal has blown out and to my knowledge the seal is not replacable. The dist is like 500 bucks. I have been able to get them to fire up and drive a bit for what I needed by removing the black plastic cover under the rotor and spraying the sensor underneath the cover off with brake clean. then I reassemble it and it usually fires up no problem.

You're right, took off the plastic cover and oil poured out. Would a dist. from a 97 Altima GXE work? A nearby scrap yard has one with 30,000 miles I've been getting parts from. Thanks for the help.
