I bought a 95 Altima & the check engine light came on. I checked the diagnostic on the ECU & the engine flashed code 25 (Idle Speed Control Valve Circuit Open or Shorted). When I went to the part store to pick up the part, it wasn't available on their store database. Is there another name for the part, like Idle Air Control Valve or is this a part I need to go to Nissan to buy?

Idle Air Control Valve is another word for it.
You might need to order it new from Nissan, but it'll probably be a bit pricey.

Courtesyparts.com should have em.

Thanks. This is my first Nissan & I'm excited about making it a real runner. No one really fixes up these model Altimas where I live. It's mostly Civics. Nothing wrong with that, but I wanna be different.

The iacv is on the back of the intake manifold. It is four bolts. Many times, you can take it out, take it apart and clean it. Although, if you are getting a CEL from it, more than likely it is the motor operation that is throwing the cel and it will need to be replaced. You can also check operation by taking it off and turning on the key and watching the plunger move. There is another way listed in the fsm that you check the terminal continuity or something to that effect as well. Google around, I have seen write ups on how to do it for the KA.
