There's a 93 SE that states it has the leather int out of a 96, is this really "doable"?

I'm looking to pick up a 93/94 5spd and want leather, but the 5 spd is more important as I think the leather conversion would be easier/cheaper.

Anything else to look out for?

Sure, a leather swap is possible. From the pic I saw, it looked pretty nice.

I'll let the 4th gen members comment on anything else to look out for.

Does that look like oil, especially at the bottom front of the motor?

It's from a 95 GXE, BTW.

Hard to tell. Looks like the engine is wet from being washed.

I can't distinguish between all the "wet stuff" in the engine bay...water, oil, degreaser?

Rex: The PVC ghetto intake hints to me that the car needs to be checked thoroughly. Any time, in my opinion, that you see items like that on a vehicle you are thinking of purchasing you should check it through and through. Just a word of caution.

The first one really has high miles. I would request a scan of the paperwork he should have received via the "mechanic".

Second one was a vehicle that they were given, so they have no history, nor an owner to talk to. Body looks to be OK. Seats would need replacing. No idea about mechanical since they just "check the fluids" and drive it. 138k miles is not that bad for a 3rd gen.

The '91 isn't too bad from the picture. I would ask them to send you some pix of each side, the back, the front, the engine compartment, and the interior (front/back/dash). 120k is really good.

Yeah, but if it goes for ~$1500, there's plenty left for "mechanical restoration", but I prefer the 3rd gen body style.

Yeah, and it's an auto. My guess is the transmission was starting to go, so they donated it. If it was a 5spd, I'd give it some serious thought. Ending price should still leave alot of room for repairs.

I'm going to contact my brother in law, he lives in GA and is in the car (sales) business. He'd be able to (low)ball park it prety good.

Thanks for the 2 you linked. I had looked at them already, but they're both auto's and I don't want that for this cars purpose.

There's still the one in NJ, that's had an engine and transmission rebuild in the last year. And the swapped leather interior.

I'll just keep looking, no big hurry.
