hello every body!
i am new this this, my question today is i have a 95 nissan 300zx TT recently i did a swap.
i put in a 90 300zx twin turbo motor in my 95 frame. everything seems to match up fine besides the cam sensor connecters. so what i did was took out the cam sensor from the 90 motor and put it in the 95. My 300zx run's now but its not good it keeps bogging out and has no power. also back fires when it hit anything over 5000 rpm. i am trying to connect the cam sensor wires but they are different colors? does anybody know? please i need to get my car running. i paid Sin city in las vegas nv over $500 trying to find out what the colors were they said its impossible and still charged me.

LOL they said its impossible!!! If the cam sensor is anything like in the Q45 they changed it slightly in the newer version but it still works the same.. Meaning all you have to do is connect the right wires together...

Ill move this to the 300ZX forum so you can be helped there. Welcome to NICO!

Your not making any sense. I am assuming your using the 95 wiring harness (hopefully you are)... All you have to do is take the sensor out of your old engine then put it in the 1990 engine..

It would be stupid and pointless to take the sensor out of the 90 and put it in the 95 (<thats what you said). If you can't just swap them then you did something wrong OR I am miss understanding you.

BigTdogg did kind of the same thing and it worked so either you have another problem or you did something wrong.

IIRC BigTdogg rebuilt his 1990 tt engine used a new 1995 TT harness and bought a 1994+ cam angle sensor.

I am doing the same exact thing as that ^ except I am re building a 94 tt engine for my 1990 tt Z.
