95 240sx wont rev

1995 240sx 130kish miles

Basicaly i about ran the car out of gas and before i shut it down it would not rev if i gave it more then 1/3 gas and even then not rly above 4k rpms brought home put 2 gallons of gas in it and it woudlnt start... a friend suggested checking the sock on the pump and chanigng the fuel filter cuz of gunk i might have sucked up so did that also check the plugs and cyl 1 was fouled out the others werent too bad so i replaced em all and got the car started but now its back to not reving and stuff it idles fine just wont rev

its the same? is it a hard rev limiter at just over 2000 rmp? or still fading out around 4000? does it gradually loose steam as the rpms are climing? does it backfire at all?

it does exactly the same as before it woudlnt start itll rev fine as long as you dont give it too much gas and when it hits about 4k rpms it just stops reving and sits there and its kinda abrupt like enough to get me to jerk a bit in my seat

hmmm, so its kind of slamming into a rev limiter eh? have you checked all the basic stuff like ign timing, fuel pressure, wiggle test, etc?
