Hey, when installing new front struts on a 240 I noticed when almost done top bolts are tightened, you just have 2 main bolts on strut left to attach, get them in there is a lot of play between the strut and knuckle and everything moves around. where do you want to tighten? It seems it would make quite a difference in your camber. Is there some specification on angle it needs to be? does anyone know what im talking about?

here's a pic, excuse the sloppyness. it has pressure pushing outward and you can push like on the top of the brake rotor and it goes it alot and goes to a solid stop, do I tighten here? or with the position it wants to be in?

you make a mark with something like white out or a sharpie where the mark was earlier before you pull the strut. you'll see that on one of those bolt holes, you'll see a |_| shaped thing attached to it with the lower part having dash marks in it. That'll be where your camber adjusts.

what brand of camber kit did you buy? because i bought one for my 95 240 and i had the same play. it fit really losely and i did not trust the fit one bit and took it back. i was just leary that if i hit one hard bump the weight from the car comin down on it would shear the bolt. so i didnt use a camber kit with my car and i have the full Tein Coilover setup. I lowered my car as low as it will go and amazingly ive been driving it like that for almost a year and the tire is wearing out normal. and never took the car to get aligned or the camber adjusted. but the rear of the car is a different story. my tires wore out like any other car with negative camber would. the insides wore out quickly. so id suggest to not even worry about those camber bolts for the front BUT DO go get the rear camber adjusted. the s14 already is setup from factory for adjustment without an aftermarket camber kit.

its not the camber that messed up your rears, it was your toe. thats why you ALWAYS get an alignment after messing with or changing suspension parts. and yes stock camber is adjustable, but only to a certian point. the best way to adjust camber for the front is camber plates, and for the rear are rucas.

Yes, I know what you are talking about. Been there done that. There's nothing wrong with your setup. If you look at holes for the upper bolts, you will see they are slotted. That's for the camber adjustment. Right fix would be getting a set of camber bolts for the top holes. Some aftermarket struts are that way. Even my coilovers were that way too. I called the company and they said give full positive camber and tighten them and adjust camber from camber plate on the top.

Go to this place and get a set of INGALLS camber bolts for your s14. Those are what Courtesy Nissan and PDM Racing sell and iapdirect has the best price under $20. If you have these, it'll be much easier for you to adjust camber. I hope this helps.

the ingalls camber bolts will adjust the front pretty easily and pretty cheaply. The rear, you need to get rucas. Camber was adjustable on both front and rear on all 240sx's, just limited in range.
